Yes. it snowed. woop-de-doo. it’s New England. I made my way into work this morning @3am.. white out conditions & no snow plows in sight. Just me, that white stuff and AWD.. (I might had had a little fun on the way.) The ER was dead, I triaged 2 people from 3a-7a.. BORING! But I did have a chance to catch up on some reading (currently workin’ on The Help), bought some chica bands online and browsed some blogs of course! I got coverage for the day as JB and I had plans, but mother nature decided to change those…
We made the most of it though- and went snowshoeing! To our usual spot- Trout Brook.
It was alright, snow was perfect, but there were tree’s down everywhere on the trails which made for tricky maneuvering.. and it was a little slushy but all in all it was pretty nice. Peaceful too;We did a little over 3 miles, having to stop a lot to climb over tree’s and save a few on the way too. Sly lead most of the way..
halfway through we stopped for a little snack.. Larabar of course
pretty sure he was posing for me, he was standing there for a good 3-4 minutes
Here’s one of the many tree’s down on the way home down Brattle St..
What’s the chance of this Snowtober happening again before Halloween? in my lifetime.. Porbably not..
what do you think?
The run outside today that is.. 54 degrees out I couldn’t pass up a run outside! 4 miles of sloppy, slushy, and puddle filled roads. Felt great, other than getting soaked. Got beeped at and yelled at too which was awesome.. NOT! (nice people we have here in Worcester) 8:50ish pace the whole way. JB, Sly and I went for a snowshoeing hike today as well. Headed to the Rail Trail in Holden.. snow was a little wet, but the snowshoes kept us up..
Today cleaned out the fridge.. so here’s a “Cribs” style shot.. what’s in your fridge?I love rearranging and cleaning things, JB hates it because he can never find anything! But the fridge was way over due for a clean.. a lot for two people hu?
Dinner tonight- JB and I went out to dinner with his mom to The Manor restaurant in WB. Got the pesto salmon again, because it was so good last time, and we got the loaded nacho’s to start.. they were wicked good! I was praying they werent going to be with the gross liquid cheese, and they weren’t.. and it was great..
Suppose to go out tomorrow night- but changed it to tonight.. good thing because we’ve got plans tomorrow night too.. (although- wish I could make it to a certain party.)
green tip. Think before you buy: . Before making an impulse buy, think about it for a week. You will see you save money & you won’t buy a product you really don’t need! Unless it’s on www.Cleansnipe.com and you don’t have time to wait!
the final result: Greek Chicken with Rice..
very good! so tender and juicy.. the only thing I would do different would be to add the veggies in later so they’re not so mushy.. but they were still yummy!
Went snowshoeing again today with two high school girlfriends.. had a blast! Great to catch up, hope it won’t be another year until we hang out again!. Then went to the gym, ran 4 miles. Working 3p-11p today.. uh- had to switch to get Wed. off. Haven’t work 3-11 in FOREVER!! we’ll see how it goes (i just hope I’m not in pediatrics!)
green tip. Purse Swap: Having a get together with the girls? Next time suggest a purse trade! Not only will you save money on not having to buy a new purse, you will be re-purposing the old bags you no longer like.
Snowshoeing was on the agenda today!.. after an egg n’ fruit breakfast..
JB, Sly and I headed out to Trout Brook for some snowshoeing.. We wanted to bring Sly- hoping the trail would be a little packed so he wouldn’t be lost in the snow! He was leading the way as usual. Once we got home we got our crock pot dinner ready..
Greek Chicken and Rice
Brown chicken thighs in a pan with some Canola Oil. Once done, place in a non-stick sprayed crock pot with a bed of green peppers (1 large) and 2 Large chopped onions. arrange the chicken skin side up on top on pepper and onions then sprinkle with 1 T. oregano, 1/2 t. rosemary, 1/2 t. garlic powder , 1/4 pepper and 1/4 salt (or less).. Cook on High 4 Hours until done, going to serve over Rice and top with feta.. mmmm can’t wait!
green tip. Have a bunch of old stuff laying around the house? Consider selling the items on Ebay & donating all proceeds to your favorite charity.. No need to waste, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
Snowshoeing was great- went to the Rail Trail instead of trout brook (right next to the rail trail).. a couple x-country skiers were finishing up as we started, they said the trail was awesome, better for snowshoeing than skiing. It was so pretty- so peaceful and quiet, didn’t see another person out there, just some animal tracks!Tonight we’re on our own for dinner- Cousins should be here anytime! Probably going to my parents house for awhile.. I’ll see what I can find to eat there… somethings always good
green tip. Junk Mail: Instead of throwing away catalogs and junk mail everyday that you receive in the mail call the company to be removed from future mailings.
Got in my UGG’s the other day! and they are awesome! keeping me warm so far.. considering it’s… 5 degrees out right now..
So My brother is getting Married on Sunday night.. yesterday had the rehearsal dinner at LUCKY’S in Worcester. Very cute little place, I got the baked Haddock topped with feta, tomatoes, onion and herbs with a side of rice and veggies.. soooo good! JB got the steak- also very good. Started the meal with a lamb “ball” soup.. yes I said lamb balls.. and they were delish.. in a broth with I think kale and veggies, and of course a side salad. Totally forgot to take pictures… crap! but I did manage to take a picture of these.. filled with Hershey kisses! )…Today JB and I are heading out snowshoeing. Going out to Trout Brook in Holden by the parents house, excited to get out there- updates later on and pictures!
